ABOUT  SKY  ACADEMY

Sky Academy was founded by Uli Jon Roth, German born guitarist and composer extraordinaire. Revered by musicians around the world for his groundbreaking achievements on the guitar he has frequently been likened to being a true ‘renaissance man’, because of his artistic scope and knowledge. While being among the most important and most unique originators of the electric guitar, Uli is artistically firmly rooted in classical music. He has a deep understanding of classical philosophy as well as Eastern teachings and applies this knowledge in his approach to music and art in general.

Uli has always been fascinated by learning and teaching and has found unusual, but highly effective ways to achieve mastery over almost any chosen subject.  Sky Academy is designed to share some of this knowledge and at the same time to be a force of inspiration and discovery.
 
Following the great success of the first three Los Angeles Sky Academy seminars, this year will see a series of international seminars which are to be held at various locations.
Sky Academy keeps its main emphasis on the  guitar, but included in the teaching will also  be a close look at how players of other musical  instruments are achieving results.  This is designed to broaden the student's overall musical awareness. 
As all those present at the previous seminars will attest, Sky Academy  also serves as a great meeting place for like-minded individuals who share similar interests and ideas.
The seminars are not just about teaching and learning - they are designed to be inspirational.
This was amply demonstrated at a whole series of Sky Academy Concerts. These were woven into the fabric of the seminars.
Most of our seminars do include concerts. They are a very important part of Sky Academy - they are a true celebration of the free spirit of live music and usually feature a whole variety of guest artists.
